Hickory is a well-known American hardwood very well suited to cabinetry, furniture and flooring because of its hardness and natural warmth. It is the perfect choice for an informal or rustic setting.
Hickory is also known for its appealing appearance. Strong, bold grain patterns show through colors ranging from bright white in the sapwood to a rich, deep red/brown in the heartwood.

Historically, Hickory wood has been valued for its strength and durability. Used for tool handles, wheel spokes and carriage parts, craftsmen have counted on Hickory where strength and durability were of utmost concern.
Today, Hickory is still used for many tool handles, but it can also be found in fine case goods such as cabinetry, furniture and flooring.
We remill old hickory wood beams into plank flooring, boards, dimensional lumber that are reclaimed from old barns and buildings.
In keeping with our practice of using reclaimed, we also utilize dead standing trees killed by insects or natural causes, yet remain fixed in the ground by their network of roots. This allows the wood to dry naturally to a lower moisture content, which speeds up kiln drying.
